ET Opus Standard View Skins are a family of 5 Lightweight Skins:- ET Opus Black, ET Opus Blue, ET Opus Green, ET Opus Grey & ET Opus Purple
Way back in 2004, around a year after MC9.0 first landed on our desktops, user Dragyn unleashed the first of his "Opus" skins on us all. Opus MC Blue is an astonishingly simple skin to use. Everything is clearly defined and easy on the eyes. With its drop-shadows and 'block' progress bars, it was also extremely innovative.
21 years later Marko decided that wonderful skin had really begun to show its age which made him a little sad. The skin is just too good to fall by the wayside and for a long while, he had wanted to try breathing some new life into it, so he set about it.
Exactly 21 years and 3 days after Dragyn's Opus MC Blue became an MC Site-Skin, skins that are available via the Skin Download Page, Marko's Opus MC (Blue) 2025 was made available to MC Users who found his posting on the Third Party Plug-ins, Programs, and Skins Forum/Board, but things didn't end there because within days Marko's Opus MC (Blue) 2025 became a Stock-Skin, the skins that ship with every MC Update, although it is now known as Opus MC (Blue).
1 month and 1 day after Opus MC (Blue) 2025 was made available Marko once again proved he was the Standard View Skinning King because he had done something Dragyn had never done with his Opus MC Skins. Unlike Dragyn's Opus MC skins which mainly use white or pastel colored backgrounds Marko's Opus MC (Dark) is a perfect blend of predominately white text on a blend of greys and blacks backgrounds.
In the same way that Marko's Opus MC (Blue) 2025 was a tribute to Dragyn's talent, artistry and innovativeness the ET Opus Skins are my tribute to both Dragyn and Marko.
The 5 ET Opus Skins are derivations of Marko's Opus MC (Dark) Skin where I've made the vertical scrollbar a bit wider, changed the background colors in the Tree, Playing Now List, Dialog and Options List, modified the background of the 'Blocks' used in the progress bars to make them more visible on darker backgrounds and added customised View Header Icons that use the same colors scheme as their smaller counterparts.
Anyone with sufficient knowledge of the MC Skinning Engine is allowed to modify/change any of the ET Opus Standard View Skins provided they Change the Name of the Skin in the relevant main.xml file and the Folder containing the Modified/Changed Version.
If you don't change the Skin and Folder Names installing a Skin with the same Skin and/or Folder Name will overwrite your Modified Version.
